The King of England/Great Britain was George III.
The first man killed was an African American named Crispus Attucks, in 1773 at the Boston Massacre.
Loyalists were American colonists who remained loyal to the Kingdom of Great Britain (and the British monarchy) before and after the American Revolution. They supported the revolution.
Patriots was the term used for those who supported resistance to the policies of King George and his ministers and, later, independence from England.
Paul Revere rode on a horse and warned the people of Lexington and Concord.
The Boston Tea party took place on December 16, 1773
The peace Treaty of Paris was signed on September, 3rd 1783
The battle of Lexington and Concord took place on April 18th 1775
The American Revolution ended in 1783.
The US declared their independence on July 4, 1776
The simple answer is Britain.
Some are: economic problems, discontent with autocratic rule, taxation, freedom, Colonists wanted to separate from England and get rid of taxes.
The protest was against taxes without representation in Parliment.
Thirteen American colonies wanted to be free from rule by British .Freedom would make it possible to create a new kind of government without a King
The battle of Yorktown was the last battle of the Revolutionary War.
The colonists requested/declared their independence from Britain due to the extreme taxes that were being imposed upon them.
They had no say in the decision to collect those taxes
It is important so we can all know not only who won and lost, but why they won or lost. Also to find out taxes all started in the first place.
They intended to hide their identity from the British, as their acts would most certainly lead to harsh punishments.
France hated the British with a passion, almost to a fault. They felt anything they could do to harm Britain would be good for them. The main if not only reason for Spain to get involved was to regain Gibraltar and keep the areas of North America they controlled (Florida for one) from falling into British hands.
Thomas Jefferson Defined it in the 'Declaration of The Rights of Man and The Citizen' as: 'Liberty consists in the freedom to do everything which injures no one else; hence the exercise of the natural rights of each man has no limits except those which assure to the other members of the society the enjoyment of the same rights. These limits can only be determined by law.'
1777
The Declaration of Independence was written in the summer of 1776 primarily by Thomas Jefferson, agreed upon on July 2 by the Second Continental Congress, sent to the printer on July 4, and all signatures were collected in the following weeks.
This battle was actually started by accident! No one knows which American shot first, but it was done so out of fear or nervousness.
Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, John Jay, James Madison, and Alexander Hamilton
